Material & Engineering Overview
Three-dimensional reticulated nickel and copper foams provide an interconnected conductive skeleton with 95%–98% open void volume and massive electrochemically active surface area—suppressing lithium dendrite growth in 3D Li-metal anodes (Cu foam), supporting high-mass-loading supercapacitor and Ni-MH/Ni-Zn active pastes (Ni foam), and serving as low-overpotential alkaline water-splitting OER/HER catalyst substrates.
Supplied clean and oxide-controlled in resealable argon/vacuum pouches as precut R&D sheets (e.g., 100×100 mm, 200×250 mm), calendered thin battery rolls (0.3–2.0 mm), or Ø 12/14/15/16/19 mm coin-cell discs.
Standard Shipment Documentation: Manufacturer Lot COA (metal purity %, PPI pore count, porosity %, areal density g/m², thickness).

Technical & Procurement FAQ
How do electrochemists pre-clean nickel or copper foam before catalyst deposition?
Researchers typically ultrasonicate Ni foam briefly in acetone/ethanol to remove trace handling oils, followed by a brief 1–3 M HCl (for Ni) or dilute acetic/citric acid (for Cu) dip to strip native surface oxide, then DI water rinse and N2 dry.
Can foams be ordered pre-punched into 14 mm, 15 mm, or 16 mm CR2032 coin-cell discs?
Yes—burr-free die-punched discs (Ø 10 mm to Ø 20 mm) are available in packs of 100 or 500 discs to save lab punching time.
Is copper foam shipped protected against air tarnishing?
Yes—copper foam sheets and discs are vacuum-packed in oxygen/moisture barrier bags immediately after final H2 reduction annealing.
